The Bay Area Chapter of the American Harp Society will present a concert of works for the harp by prominent Bay Area composers. The program will include works by David Conte and Elinor Armer, both of whom teach at the SF Conservatory; Ronald Caltabiano, professor at SF State, and Helena Michelson.

Bay Area harp luminaries to perform include Douglas Rioth, principal harp of the SF Symphony; Dan Levitan, principal harp of Symphony Silicon Valley, the Marin Symphony and the Santa Rosa Symphony; Natalie Cox, principal harp of the Oakland East Bay Symphony; Sarah Voynow, Dominique Piana, and Joffria Whitfield.

Join us in celebrating what would have been the ninety-fifth birthday of the brilliant and innovative California composer Lou Harrison. The evening features a performance of Harrison’s powerful La Koro Sutro, conducted by Marika Kuzma, as well as a handful of chamber works, including one performed by the Abel-Steinberg-Winant Trio. Sarah Cahill will perform the solo piano piece "Dance for Lisa Karon," a newly-discovered manuscript which has not been performed since 1939. Please come early for best seating. A limited number of chairs will be available; please bring a pillow and make yourself comfortable on the gallery floor.
